Bottom Line has released a new version of the program Delivery Planning that makes it possible to introduce week planning.
Vendors of motor fuels typically make use of day or shift planning because they own service stations that need to be replenished very frequently. The focus is on maximisation of dropsize. Trip distance optimisation is less relevant because the number of delivery locations per trip is quite limited.
However this is different for vendors of lpg, adblue, heating oil, propane or lubricants who do have a large number of delivery locations per trip and a relatively low delivery frequency. Their focus is much more on trip distance minimisation. For them week planning can result in large savings.
